Making Progress 2015

I really dread going to see the doctor.  Two years ago, I had an over zealous doctor freak out about my blood pressure and cholesterol. He was wanting to put me on three different meds, but I refused.  After doing some research, I didn’t feel it was that big of a deal.  But, ever since, I’ve been freaked out every time I go back into the clinic.

Well, today, as soon as I walked in (different clinic), the nursing staff had me laughing hysterically.  They made me feel at ease and got me relaxed.  Furthermore, the doctor, while looking at individual numbers, she also looked at everything together and thought I was pretty healthy.  She did note that while my BP was just a few points above the norm, my good cholesterol was almost double what the average person has.  I had an ER doctor who specialized in cholesterol once tell me, it was so high, it was actually counter acting the bad cholesterol and I shouldn’t be too worried.

She said I was very healthy, liver was good, heart and lungs sound great and no worries about diabetes and commended me for pushing on my workouts.  She said keep it up and my BP would be fine. I was barely above the normal.

It felt so good to be with a doctor who didn’t freak out of one “slightly” off number and want to put me on 1/2 dozen meds.  I’m already dealing with life long Graves Disease.  I don’t need to be on 15 other meds.  Supplements I don’t mind, but if I avoid other pharmaceuticals, I will.

Feeling pretty good today.  Off to workout for my 4th day in a row.
